Great grinder used by the pros.
By Patrick A. Barrett
I just finished a 4 day granite sculpting workshop taught by international artist Jesus Moroles, and he used Metabo grinders exclusively. This variable speed unit worked great from start to finish. It cut, ground, polished and buffed granite without complaint. The only thing I can't attest to is motor life, but it was clear that these units had no trouble from dust clogging or abuse from would be granite artists just trying to get a feel for the material and burning out cutting blades, grinding wheels, and finishing pads in the process. If only the wheel head could be smaller so it would fit in tighter places, but I guess I'll need to find another tool for that.

A tough tool.
By S. Feher
I bought this to replace another Metabo that I burned out working on stone. This one is tougher and is labeled somewhere as being for stone work. This machine is heavier in weight than then previous grinder, as well as heavier duty. The weight is an issue for me for I need to take breaks because of the weight. But it works extremely well on stone, steel and other metals I use it to cut, grind, and polish. This grinder did not come with the quick release attaching hardware, but I kept the quick release from the other grinder and use it on this one, which works just like it did on the one labeled "quick." The variable speed is essential in working on different materials, and I have another grinder I've had for years, a Bosch, but hardly use it because it is fixed speed. This one is worth the extra cost.

Awesome!

I received this item and have used it around my house and am very pleased with the results. I wanted something that had variable speed as I am also using it to polish concrete. This is a great grinder, love love it
